Your training

Our hotel offers our guests a wide range of catering services. As a catering specialist, you love being a host and have mastered the basics of gastronomy. As the interface between hotel and guest, you represent the hotel. In addition to providing expert advice on the gastronomic offer, the catering specialist also takes care of the special wishes of our guests.

During your training, you will work in all catering departments - from the BROILER and the buffet restaurants to the wine corner, the bars and the event service. You will learn:

  • warmly welcome, advise and look after guests
  • Serving food and drinks in the various types of service
  • Cashing up, preparing guest bills and finalising accounts
  • Carry out preparatory and finishing work, such as setting tables
  • Manage stations independently

Training starts regularly on 1 August, with the standard training period being 2 years. Vocational school takes place in Rostock-Toitenwinkel, with 2 weeks of theory alternating with 4 weeks of practical training. The working hours during the practical phases are 8 hours/day plus breaks 5 days a week. We are also there for our guests at weekends and on public holidays.

If they perform well, we take on our trainees as skilled workers.

What you bring with you:
  • A good secondary school leaving certificate or special school certificate
  • Reliability, honesty and punctuality
  • good communication skills
  • a friendly, open and polite demeanour is a matter of course for you
  • You are a real team player
